Telling at WoWo 2012As well as being a performer at festivals, I also have a considerable amount of experience of organising small scale festivals. Whilst working for the Royal Parks I was responsible for the biennial Open Weekends which brought 10s of thousands of visitors in to enjoy a host of activities happening across Richmond Park. These were  probably the most ambitious events I have been involved with and they were always a great success.

My favourite event used to be the Bluebell Weekend at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. Originally as part of the organising committee and then simply as a performer, I was involved with this event for all of the 10 years that it ran. We regularly caused huge queues at the entrance gates along the Kew Rd. Visitors knew it would be worth the wait! Each year I had the best venue for storytelling in a Woodland Roundhouse which was erected specially for the event.

So that’s a little bit about my experience. You want to know what I can offer:

  • Small scale intimate storytelling sessions in your venues
  • Small scale intimate storytelling sessions from my Teardrop Trailer Nimue
  • Storytelling skills workshops in your venues
  • Why not have a storytelling competition – either open to all or just for children?
